HL7 Taiwan would like to cordially invite you to participate in this exciting event in Taipei. We would like to welcome you to sharing with our international colleagues your wealth of knowledge and experiences in developing, adopting and implementing HL7 standards. We would also welcome you exploring and experiencing the beauty of this semitropical island, Taiwan. To facilitate the synchronization of HL7 standards development in the Asia-Pacific region and the international community, the 6th HL7 International Affiliations Meeting will be hosted jointly with the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Healthcare Information Standards.

HL7 standards are widely accepted in the healthcare industry globally. Currently, the HL7 International Affiliation has a 28-nation membership. This number will increase rapidly as more countries recognize the importance of healthcare information standards in building up their national information infrastructures including the electronic healthcare records.

The theme of this joint conference is “Leapfrogging health care and quality of life through integrated health information infrastructure.” This theme recognizes that health information standards are necessary for linking individual, regional, national and international core knowledge in healthcare and for creating, adopting and using Electronic Health Records in advancing the quality of healthcare services and improving quality of life through better population health.

The conference features a series of exciting invited talks, paper presentations, panel discussions and tutorials centered on the main theme, which will no doubt be enriched by the diverse cultural and social activities. It will also provide an excellent forum for networking with our international colleagues. I hope you will all accept this invitation and join us in sharing your wealth of knowledge, experiences and also take the opportunity to enjoy the summer scenery and delicious foods in Taipei.
